Opportunity: Create an exhibit about genetics that incorporates live animals, digital interactive device, hands on learning and exploration.
Solution: “Genetics – Decoding Life” was designed for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. From gene therapy to cloning and mutations, the 7,000 square-foot exhibit has been said to be the most comprehensive exhibit on genetics in the world. The exhibit contains some of the most complex biological life-supporting systems in the country. Each animal pod is independently responsible for controlling temperature, humidity and light levels for the genetically engineered animals or plant life on display. In the exhibit you will find genetically engineered green-eyed frogs, cloned mice and mutant flies which illustrate how genes are shared between animals and humans.
