Welcome to my site, it’s a combination blog of travel, food and interesting finds while I take some time off from the grind. Guess you could call the site my living “portfolio.” I also have another blog that is all about the restoration of the “Lady Jane” a 14′ gaff rigged sandbagger sloop. If you are interested you can check it out here: http://fixingmyboat.wordpress.com/
A little about my professional career:
My initial education was in architecture and set design, eventually moving into industrial design, designing products, exhibit experiences and interactive devices. I started b+b with a partner 1989 where the firm’s objective was to create a flexible environment where different disciplines could work together creating products, environments and learning experiences. As the company moved forward, we focused on the integration of advanced systems and digital technologies into highly tactile spaces from permanent exhibit installations to retail spaces. Projects ranged from designing sections of the Cairo Stock Exchange to the largest exhibit on genetics in the world at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The “work” section of the site is a collection of projects which represents both work from b+b and more recent work where I have primarily focused on experiential retail environments.
